Silvana completed her undergraduate degree in physical education at Wilfrid Laurier University and received her physical therapy degree from Queen’s University in 2001 where she was a varsity lacrosse athlete. She continued post graduate studies with McMaster’s contemporary medical acupuncture program and with the orthopedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy association. Her clinical focus is on treatment of various peripheral and spinal injuries that are related to orthopedics and sports. She also has additional training in concussion and vestibular rehab. In addition in 2011, she began taking courses to become certified in treating women, men and children with pelvic health conditions that involve bowel and bladder issues. She also enjoys training, coaching, and playing lacrosse and is involved with the Team Ontario women's field lacrosse program. Furthermore, she is also involved with the McMaster Physiotherapy program as a preceptor for their students.
Steven completed his bachelor of Kinesiology at Redeemer University in 2013 and pursued his Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario, in which he completed in 2016. He has completed courses in both manual therapy , soft tissue release and in 2016 completed the McMaster contemporary medical acupuncture program to help further his skill-set. He focuses on neuro-musculoskeletal injuries in a wide variety of populations including post-surgical, geriatrics, neurological disorders and sports related injuries. Aside of work he enjoys being active, playing basically any sport, traveling and spending time with his friends and family.
Harmandeep graduated from the program of Physical Therapy from Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab, India in 2010. He has worked as an orthopedic physical therapist in the private and public sector for more
than 8 years. Harmandeep is an active member of the College of Physiotherapy of Ontario. He has Master’s Degree in sports physical therapy and had worked with various sports teams. Clinically, Harmandeep strongly believes in educating his clients in self management and in using his manual therapy skills to restore his clients to full function. In his free time Harmandeep enjoys, travelling, exploring new places and cultures, exercising and reading.
Amanda is an Athletic Therapist who moved back home to Canada from the United States. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training from James Madison University in 2011 and went on to earn her Master's Degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University in 2013. She lived and worked in Pittsburgh, PA for a few years before returning to Canada. Amanda has experience working with all age groups, but has spent the majority of her career working with young athletes and enjoys working with the paediatric age range. Amanda is also the bracing technician at Upper James Physio. On days off you can find her outside running with her three dogs or spending time with her family.
Jennifer is a Certified Athletic Therapist who graduated from Sheridan College with a Honors Bachelor of Applied Health Science-Athletic Therapy in 2019. Before Sheridan, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Brock University. During her time at Sheridan, Jennifer had the opportunity to work with many sports teams at the high school and college level. She also gained clinical experience dealing with many musculoskeletal injuries, osteoarthritis and post operative patients. Jennifer believes in the importance of movement and education and implements this into her treatments. On days off, Jennifer likes to play sports and spend time with her family and friends.
Rabia completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University in 2014. She then worked as a Kinesiologist, Personal Trainer, and Aqua Therapist before deciding to pursue Physiotherapy. Rabia completed her Masters of Physiotherapy at McGill University in 2019. While pursuing her Masters, Rabia has worked with a variety of athletes of all ages from varsity to professional in a strength and reconditioning and injury prevention and treatment capacity. While in Montreal, Rabia worked with the Montreal Alouettes football team and subsequently completed her Master’s thesis on Injuries within the Canadian Football League (CFL). Rabia has taken continuing education courses completing Level 1 Manual therapy with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy, Pelvic floor level 1 with Uro Sante, and the Integrated Patterning course with Integrated Seminar Series focused on movement patterning. Clinically, Rabia focuses on educating her clients on self-management, using her manual therapy skills to help restore function, and promoting an active lifestyle outside of rehabilitation. Outside of work Rabia enjoys working out, going for hikes, and watching basketball and football.
Ashton joined our team in 2019 and is responsible for the daily operations of the clinic. She has 20 years of customer service experience in various positions. Ashton loves meeting new people and will always offer a helping hand when someone is in need.
Lisa has been working as an administrator in the medical health and wellness field since 1999 and has been with Upper James Physio since 2005.
